Capitol District Street Fair Vendor Application
Thank you for your interest in Capitol District Street Fair. The event will take place along 4th Ave North and in Morgan Park on Saturday May 20, 2017 between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Acting in its sole discretion, JD Events and Festivals reserves the right to reject any application for any reason.
This application is for local artists and businesses only.
Morgan Park and 4th Ave North between Hume St. and Van Buren St.
Capitol District Street Fair kicks off on Saturday May 20th with the Annual Tour De Nash. The free festival brings an estimated 4,000 people to Germantown and is located at the start and finish line of the annual bike race. The purpose of the Capitol District Street Fair is to bring together the residents and businesses in Germantown, Salemtown, Hope Gardens, and Buena Vista for a fun-filled day enjoying a local vendor marketplace, food trucks, live music, and so much more. The vendor marketplace will operate on Saturday May 20, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The event raises funds for Crossroads Pets, a local non-profit with a passion for creating and fostering caring connections between people and pets.

January 18-20--First round of notifications will be sent to vendors via email
February 15--Second round of applications will be reviewed/notifications will be sent to vendors via email
March 15--Third round of applications will be reviewed/notifications will be sent to vendors via email
April 12--Last round of applications will be reviewed/notifications will be sent to vendors via email
April 15--Final payment deadline for vendors
Local Business* - A local business is considered a locally owned and operated business. Booth space at Capitol District Street Fair is reserved for local artists, crafters, food vendors, and sponsors. Local businesses can be apart of Capitol District Street Fair through sponsorship of the event. Please reach out to jack@jdeventsandfestivals if you are interested in sponsoring this event.
Artist $175.00* - Individuals who hand-make/handcraft the items they will offer at the event.
Artist categories are used by Capitol District Street Fair as a tool to ensure vendor diversity at the event. Please find descriptions of media categories below:
Candles: Personally concocted scent profiles and hand-poured candles and wax melts
Ceramics: All original clay and porcelain work other than jewelry is accepted in this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted.
Clothing: Hand-sewn articles of clothing by you.
Digital Art: This category includes any original work for which the original image, or the manipulation of other source material, was executed by the artist using a computer. Traditional photographs taken through a digital media should apply in the photography category.
Drawing: Works created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayon, etc. or from the fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush are to be entered in this category.
Fiber: All work crafted from fibers including basketry, embroidery, weaving, leatherwork, tapestry and papermaking. This can be wearable or non-wearable.
Glass: No forms of mass production are permitted. Mass produced glassware vendors should fill out the Local Business Vendor Form.
Health/Beauty: Beauty (skincare, make up, etc) products hand-made and concocted by you. No mass-produced products are allowed.
Jewelry: All jewelry whether the work is produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, paper, plastic or other materials must be entered in this category. No commercial casts, molds or production studio work is allowed.
Metalworks: Includes all non-sculptural, non-jewelry works crafted from metals. No production studio work is allowed.
Painting: Works created in oils, acrylics, watercolor, etc. are in this category.
Paper Making/Book Arts: Hand-binded journals, notebooks, etc.
Photography: Photographic prints made from the artist’s original image, which have been processed by that artist, or under his or her direct supervision, are included in this category.
Printmaking: Printed works for which the artist’s hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens and which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition may be entered in this category.
Sculpture: Three-dimensional original work done in any medium.
Wood: Original works in wood that are hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved are accepted in the wood category.
Not for Profit $175.00* - Non-profits must be a registered 501c3.
Food Truck/Vendor Space $300.00 (SOLD OUT for 2017)
Booth Space includes a 10x10 space on the ground. Vendors must provide 10x10 tent, table, chairs and any other set-up needs in order to display your work in an outdoor environment. The Festival requires you to weight your tents. All vendor spaces will be on pavement. Please plan accordingly. Fee is due once you have been accepted into the event.
Applications will be reviewed starting January 18, 2017. You will receive further information if you have been accepted to the event.
Hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday May 20, 2017
Artists retain all revenue from the sale of their work with no commission on sales due to Capitol District Street Fair.
Once you receive email notification for being accepted into the event, you must pay your vendor fee prior to Saturday April 15, 2017. Failure to respond by the deadline may result in revocation of the invitation and immediate invitation of an applicant from the waiting list.
